Ego

- Is it the extended form of self esteem ?

In my view, Ego is not an extended form of Self esteem. Self esteem is a kind of defense mechanism which resists ego from others so this is completely a different thing from ego. When a person compares himself from others with a kind of negativity inside them and is ready to pull others down, this comes under ego. Self esteem never harms others; it protects one self from being harmed by others.

Ego is such kind of mental disease which combines the infection of “Selfishness” and “Greed”. If a person is selfish then definitely he will be egoistic and greedy. These three qualities belong to each other and come altogether in a bundle.

Self-centered people differs from egoist, they mostly think about one self not having thoughts of others or not comparing one self to others. Neither they help others nor they harm or pull down.

When ego combines with ill mannered activities (as a result of ego itself, byproduct) and we love to do so, it becomes “Pride”.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

-  Mahatma Gandhi

Ego involves domination of others, if you try to make yourself important by dominating others you are suffering from ego.

Be wise, think broad!!

Presence of ego is a sign of going downstairs. Always prefer the giving attitude, help people and take help from them too. Never underestimate others! Learn, grow and be happy altogether with the outer world!
